bad attitude from sports club x-physique organisers

I AM SO SO SO ANGRY WITH THE SPORTS CLUB PEOPLE OF 2008... THE ONE IN CHARGE OF THE X-PHYSIQUE...
today my team mate for x-physique informed me that we would have to attend a briefing at NTU this sat at 10am to 12pm.. i was shocked.. why so sudden.. and they require ALL members to go down for the briefing... I have coaching classes and training and i definitely would not want to skip those... my other 2 team mates have a WINGS athletic seminar to attend and my friend has a wedding function for his brother to attend to.. the message was sent too late.. wed sent to us and expect us to go on sat.. 2 days in advance.. what if people had already made plans..
this is NOT the worst...

I politely called up the organiser asking whether we can be excused from the talk because we are really not available.. she say she highly recommend that we go for it. i understand on their side that they need us to be down to explain certain rules and regulations...

however... the thing that pissed me off was this person at the back of the phone.. perhaps the other organiser.. the girl i was talking to turned back and asked the guy whether we can be excused from the talk... and guess what the guy said

..."dun want to come dun come la... later dun come back and complain about us and complain we never say this and that...." I was super pissed off with his attitude...
i told the lady i was talking to,
"heh, i can hear very clearly what he is saying".. she was like "erm..." she din even apologise at all.. this time round, my mood and anger was raised to the brim...

i asked her "can u send any powerpoint slides to us"... "NO WE CANT" was her reply... i said "then can u email us the rules and regulations".
"NO WE CANT" is also her reply... everything was a NONONO...

i have never seen such a organiser before.. everything was to their convenience and not to help the participant... any adventure races that we went, if there was a briefing, it would be make known minimum of one week ago... and the rules and regulations would be printed and given out to the participants... and even powerpoint slides would be emailed to us...

i was wondering.. if the organisers is having a briefing, i would reckon they already have everything written down as what they want to say, which means they should have no problem in emailing us. What is so difficult in emailing the rules and regulations? why cant they be more flexible.. it is not as though we dun want to go down. but due to earlier commitments, we really cant make it... they should have thought all these through...

i already explained to her that we have taken part in the race for the past 2 years... and have been racing for quite long.. is there any important thing we need to take note... and whether any major change for this year race.. she just said "its better that you come down.. i dun think there is any major change, but we will show pictures of some of the stations you will be doing." I said "so any change? what are the important things we need to note.. its better that we have the emailed version" and as expected... NO was her answer

firstly, why is the registration fees raised to so expensive this year... even my friends who are in the national team for adventure race is shocked by the registration fee...
secondly, where is there an extra charge for the bike, where there is not orevious year...
thirdly, the people they hire for the abseiling course, will they be the same as last year.. talking about last year... i think almost 90% of the teams that took part were displeased with the standards.. they caused us to lose our 2nd position.. and the organisers did nothing to help..even though they had already promised us that they will look into the matter... even before they had investigate the matter, they already presented the prize...

of course, why still take part in the race when have so many probs... initially i though it was only 30-40 bucks per person... and was a relatively easy adventure race... so we decided to go for it again ... anyway the distance we have to complete is so short...

and then the price was 60 bucks when we had already signed up... we din know... only one of the team member knew...

my team members wanted to take part again.. and enjoy the race as a team... and they have no bicycles, and this is one of the adventure racers that provides all equipment and no need to bring out own...

and lastly. this adventure race do not require any experience adventure racer to complete it.. it is relatively easy and manageable.. thats why we took part in it!!!

now the attitude of the organisers really turned me off.. i am wondering what kind of standards they are putting in for the race...just based on the attitude the organisers give the participants through the phone, you can actually imagine what kind of people are they... they seem to me like they are just doing for the sake of doing...

i have been supporting almost all NTU sports club events...and this is the first time i am so utterly disapointed by the organising committee...

i must applaud the organising commitee for the vertical marathon 2008... they did a great job.. not because i won the race.. but because they handled the situation very well even with a rainfall... the whole event was very well done... even had free photos for every participant to take home as memory... it shows the effort that they put in ...and the prizes were good! they even had a maze event to keep people busy when they are waiting for the climb to start.. the hand over of participants to the marshalls were very well done... it was very very well... have no complains about them.. though the waiting time was long.. it was as usual for every year and it was for safety reasons.... kudos to these people...

now. i want to find out who that guy with that poor attitude is.. he is just but a junior in NTU.. just joined sports club perhaps... this type of attitude cannot last him ANYWHERE... let me see your face........he , with no apologies...

actually it is pretty easy to find... just find the organisers and will know who he is... i can even recognise his voice now...its totally way off a committed organiser's attitude and deemed to be not competent.... he never know what people's impression of him could have an impact of his event... and he din know who he was handling... so coincidence, he pissed me off... now i am announcing to the whole world.. and to all my athletic friends...i am not looking anywhere good about this event... all because of his words...

Hi, I had a bad experience before this event too. The organisers kept insisting that we meet her to pass her the forms, when we could actually send it to them. They kind of assume everyone is an NTU student and it's convenient for everyone to meet after her classes. Luckily my fren stayed just outside NTU therefore entertained her! I feel sad coz I was once very active in the Sports Club. Standards dropped.
